Francis Aboagye-Nyame (Kofi Nyame)

Founder & Principal Advisor, Ascend Systems for Health

Francis Aboagye-Nyame (Kofi Nyame) is a pharmaceutical systems strengthening specialist and pharmacist with over two decades of experience supporting regulatory reform, supply chain governance, and institutional management systems across Africa and other low- and middle-income settings.

He has led and advised major donor-funded initiatives in medicines regulation, pharmaceutical care, workforce systems, and governance reform, supporting ministries of health, regulatory authorities, and development partners to implement inspection models, compliance oversight frameworks, and performance-driven management systems.

His expertise sits at the intersection of regulatory science, organizational governance, and operational systems strengthening. He advises on modernizing pharmaceutical oversight through data analytics and AI-enabled decision support to improve system performance.

His work emphasizes building accountable national institutions that link regulation, supply chains, pharmaceutical care, and health security into sustainable systems capable of functioning beyond external donor support. He also advises on regulatory and institutional readiness for pharmaceutical manufacturing initiatives at national and regional levels.

Kofi Nyame holds qualifications in pharmacy and management and is pursuing a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) focused on pharmaceutical regulation, governance, and responsible AI-enabled regulatory intelligence. Through Ascend Systems for Health, he applies a systems-level advisory approach grounded in institutional accountability, national ownership, and long-term resilience.
